Jon Towne

Running started for Jon when he was in high school track but he didn’t actually “run for fun” until 2003. Now he’s found not only an outlet for improving his fitness but a way to enjoy the sport recreationally. Jon usually runs a quick workout before the work day around his neighborhood just north of Bristol or Saturday mornings on the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail. He is a well-rounded athlete who visits the gym and enjoys basketball.

Jon has been running about 10-20 miles a week but he’d like to run more. He fuels with music, Gatorade, Clif Bars and his favorite post-run treat is beer! Jon gets out to run as much as he can and only avoids the outside when it’s under 5 degrees or lightning and raining. His best race ever was the Indy Mini Half at 1:28:00 and he’s thinking about signing up for either the Indy Mini again this year or a Sunburst race. Jon joined 2RRC this year to meet new people, add to the mileage, have fun, be accountable, and raise race money for good causes! Welcome to the club, Jon!
